Orphans in Nepal

In January of 2014, I visited 4 children's homes in Kathmandu, Nepal. Since the earthquake, as far as I know, the children and staff there are okay, but one of the homes, "though significantly damaged itself, has become a temporary shelter for 150 community members who have lost their homes. Those seeking shelter are sleeping within the walls of the church compound (which also houses a Bible school, children’s home, widow’s home, and home for widows) though they are sleeping outdoors due to the constant threat of aftershocks."

Just a few days ago, I spoke with a woman who recalled her terrifying experience as a child when she experienced an earthquake in California. "When everything you trust to be stable and real starts shaking and crumbling, it's very traumatic." She shuddered.

Pray for the 60 children at the Immanuel Church Children's Home in Kathmandu,
and the other children affected by the earthquake. As their home is inundated with homeless neighbors, pray that they will receive strength and nurture in remarkable ways through the believers in the city, and that God will protect them from fears and people who would seek to exploit the situation for harm.
