A few weeks before I left the Children's Home, a Covenant Sem student intern arrived to spend 4 months with the boys at the Home. His main "job" was to simply to build relationships with the boys and help them with their homework. He lives at the Boys Hostel and the flexibility of the boys' evening schedule allows him to spend long periods of relaxed conversation with them after dinner, something of which I was mildly jealous. ;-) (Because of my office job and other responsibilities, I don't often have as much leisurely time to spend with the girls.)
Shortly before I left, David said that one of the 10th grade boys was asking him deep questions about his faith like, "Why does God allow sin into the world?" and "How do we know JC was really God?" We prayed for David and his conversations with Mohan, and praised the Father that He had provided David in the short term to be available to bond with the boys in such important ways. All the children at the Home know the Sunday School stories and answers, but very few discipleship-minded adults are available to help direct their faith so it becomes strong and personal.
A few days ago, I received an update from the field saying that Mohan said he wants to attend sem! Vocational aspirations can often change with young people, but this was an encouraging answer to prayer.
Please join me in praying for more laborers like David who would be able to interact with young people like Mohan. Please pray that Mohan and others who grow up at the Children's Home would respond to the challenge to love and serve the Lord with their heart, soul, strength and mind. Pray that the Father would be pleased to use the Children's Home to raise up God-honoring leaders in the Saffron Land.

"The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Pray that the Lord of the harvest would send more laborers."
